Summary

Urban rats do not appear to transmit severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). Studies found no evidence of SARS-CoV-2 infection in wild rats and experimental Omicron BA.5 inoculation did not lead to significant infection in rats.
