Abstract:
This patent highlight describes a series of novel heterocyclic pyrimidine derivatives as glycogen synthase kinase 3 alpha (GSK3α) inhibitors. The disclosed compounds demonstrated excellent subtype selectivity over GSK3β and showed promising efficacy in treating an MC38 mouse model of colorectal cancer.

Inhibition of Cdk Activity
4.6K
The orderly progression of the cell cycle depends on the activation of Cdk protein by binding to its cyclin partner. However, the cell cycle must be restricted when undergoing abnormal changes. Most cancers correlate to the deregulated cell cycle, and since Cdks are a central component of the cell cycle, Cdk inhibitors are extensively studied to develop anticancer agents. For instance, cyclin D associates with several Cdks, such as Cdk 4/6, to form an active complex. The cyclin D-Cdk4/6 complex...

Parkinson's Disease: Treatment
162
Neurodegenerative disorders, such as Parkinson's Disease (PD), involve the gradual and irreversible destruction of neurons in particular brain areas. These disorders exhibit standard features like proteinopathies, selective vulnerability of some neurons, and an interaction of intrinsic properties, genetics, and environmental influences in neural injury.
