Abstract:
Chronic insomnia (CI) is one of the most common diseases. CI can significantly reduce a person's quality of life, affecting their emotional status and performance. Currently, the most effective treatment for CI is cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I). However, the use of CBT-I is often limited due to the insufficient number of trained specialists and the high total cost of treatment. Due to these difficulties, developing new treatment protocols for CI remains relevant. One promising method is transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS), which is a non-invasive method of influencing the brain. The article discusses the mechanisms of action of TMS and reviews the accumulated data on the effectiveness of TMS in patients with CI.
