    Area of Science:

    • Ophthalmology
    • Cosmetic Surgery

    Background:

    • Incomplete socket reconstruction after enucleation presents a significant cosmetic challenge.
    • Additional surgical interventions may be contraindicated in certain clinical scenarios.

    Observation:

    • A case is presented where incomplete socket reconstruction led to cosmetic disfigurement.
    • Existing anophthalmic camouflage methods were reviewed.

    Findings:

    • A cost-effective technique utilizing optical cosmesis is described.
    • This method aims to restore a natural and symmetric facial appearance.

    Implications:

    • Offers a viable, non-surgical solution for anophthalmic patients with cosmetic concerns.
    • Improves patient quality of life by addressing disfigurement.
    • Provides a practical approach for clinicians managing post-enucleation defects.
