We rigorously investigate the impact of environmental innovations (EI) on the operational efficiency of marine mineral resources (MMR), emphasizing their significance for a sustainable ocean economy. We use six independent indicators to examine the efficiency of European countries' use of MMR: the exploitation of crude oil, the extraction of natural gas, salt in the ocean, and support activities for mining and quarrying clays and kaolin. Analyzing data from 2014 to 2022, our findings reveal that EI substantially influences the long-lasting impacts of the European Union's (EU) MMR. The influence of EI on MMR is considerable, with positive effects emerging once a certain threshold of improvement is attained. Furthermore, we assess the impact of EI on aquatic resources and ocean energy as part of our resilience evaluation, addressing the paucity of marine minerals information regarding data quality.
