    Background:

    • Endogenous depression (ED) is associated with altered cortisol secretion patterns.
    • The dexamethasone suppression test (DST) is a common diagnostic tool, but its relationship with overall cortisol levels requires further clarification.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate 24-hour plasma cortisol levels in endogenously depressed patients compared to normal controls.
