Simulation and Usability Lab to Analyse the Safety and Performance of Medical Devices

The combination of simulation and usability testing can improve the investigation of hazardous human-machine interaction and use-related risks of medical devices. The suitability of this approach was tested in several studies. The simulation lab was used to simulate critical situations and stress in a realistic emergency and intensive care environment without putting patients at risk. The set-up and operation of the lab must be managed financially and organizationally.
