Abstract:
As part of the German Medical Informatics Initiative, data integration centers have been established to consolidate clinical data for further research. At the University Hospital of Gießen a central FHIR repository acts as the data core of the data integration center. To allow researchers efficient navigation within the data sets, a semantic network application from neuropathology has been reused as an enhanced metadata repository. First results demonstrate the feasibility of the approach and show directions for further improvement.
