Abstract:
Patient falls pose significant risks of injury and can have severe consequences for hospitalized patients. This article discusses a quality improvement project that aimed to reduce slips and slides from hospital recliners among patients. The intervention involved implementing a seated positioning system to prevent patients from slipping or sliding out of chairs. This initiative resulted in reduced incidence of slips and slides leading to falls, from 12% of all falls to 5%.
