Abstract:
The aim of the study was to propose a framework for practical and fundamental model functional designs for the modernization of mine water pumping stations in light of the energy transition challenges in the economy. The proposed original database of functional models is intended to assist in the selection of an appropriate solution for specific conditions of modernisation of mine water pumping stations, regardless of their geographical location. The developed models were verified for specific technical conditions of an exemplary pumping station in the form of a case study. The results of the study indicated that energy transformation and decarbonization are most conducive to functional models of mine water pumping stations comprehensively solving the challenges of the enterprise and the problems of local communities. It was concluded that the most favorable form of long-term storage of surplus generated energy is the production of hydrogen in the process of water electrolysis. Models involving the sale of generated hydrogen are recommended for implementation, while models involving the on-site combustion of stored hydrogen are not economically viable.

Pumped Concrete
For direct-acting pumps, the concrete enters the pump via the inlet valve under the action of gravity and suction created by the movement of the piston. This concrete is then forced into the pipeline and out through the outlet valve by the forward movement...
