Neonatal lupus erythematosus (NLE) can lead to macrophage activation syndrome (MAS). This case study reveals elevated IL-6, sTNF-RII, and IFN-α cytokines in NLE-associated MAS, suggesting similar pathways to lupus-related MAS.
