Background:

Assistive Technology (AT) enhances daily living, autonomy, and independence for individuals with disabilities and the elderly.
Numerous barriers limit the widespread adoption and accessibility of AT, despite its potential benefits.

Purpose of the Study:

To systematically identify and analyze barriers hindering AT adoption and accessibility.
To propose practical solutions for overcoming these identified challenges.

Main Methods:

A Systematic Literature Review (SLR) was conducted.
VOSviewer and Statistica Software were used for rigorous data analysis and barrier clustering.
Identified obstacles were grouped for a standardized exploration of similarities.

Main Results:

Thirteen distinct clusters of barriers were identified through the analysis.
The most prevalent barriers identified were related to "Financial and Knowledge Access".

Conclusions:

The study offers a comprehensive examination of challenges impacting AT accessibility and implementation.
Targeted strategies are proposed to mitigate barriers and enhance AT integration for end-users.
