Abstract:
The study aims to evaluate the impact of the video combined teach-back (V&T) method training caregivers on the care ability of family caregivers and the continuous rehabilitation of stroke patients. Fifty participants were randomly assigned to the intervention or control group. Participants in the control group received the usual health education, while those in the intervention group received health education using the V&T method based on the control group. The intervention group showed significantly higher scores in total care ability, as well as in the dimension of "knowledge of stroke" and "Caregivers' care skills", at 3 weeks, 7 weeks, and 15 weeks compared to the control group. And the intervention group were significantly improved in motor function, anxiety and depression at 7 weeks and 15 weeks. Training family caregivers using the V&T method significantly improved family caregivers' care ability, and positively impacted motor function and psychological status of stroke patients.
