Aim:
To explore the experiences and perspectives of older adults with chronic conditions on a Community-based e-Health Program.
Methods:
Using a descriptive qualitative design, seven focus group discussions were conducted after completion of the Community-based e-Health Program.
Results:
Four overarching themes and twelve subthemes were generated. The four themes were: (1) Journey towards better chronic disease management via diet and exercise; (2) Navigating Socio-Emotional Regulation; (3) Uncertainty in health management process: Professional Health Guidance vs Self-management; and (4) Dilemmas and Inertia in utilising digital health practices.
Conclusion:
The Community-based e-Health Program showed potential in promoting positive changes in health behaviour. However, there is a need for ongoing development and refinement of digital health interventions to address usability concerns and enhance engagement among the older adults. This study's findings can be used to refine e-Health programs and improve health outcomes of older adults with chronic conditions.
