Imaging-Based Diagnosis of a Wandering Choledochocele: A Rare Presentation

Congenital bile duct cysts are classified into four types. Type III (choledochocele) is a rare form characterized by cystic dilatation of the distal intramural segment of the common bile duct extending into the lumen of the duodenum. We present a 16-year-old case of a choledochocele diagnosed based on the findings of ultrasound, computed tomography (CT), and magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP). What makes this case even more rare is that the choledochocele is wandering in the duodenum lumen. As far as we can see, this was the first case of wandering choledochocele in the literature. Unfortunately, since there was no pediatric surgery in our center, the patient had to be referred to an external center.
