Childhood adversity and trauma: Child and adult sequelae, treatment, and implications for practice

The editor introduces this special issue on childhood trauma. These new studies cover a wide range of topics including adverse childhood experiences, symptoms of childhood trauma, childhood trauma's impact on maternal/parent-child interactions, and child and adult social integration. Child maltreatment rates increased during COVID, which affected whole families and communities, compounding the risk. This special issue also includes new studies on adult sequelae of childhood trauma, trauma treatment for both children and adults, and studies that can help practitioners who work with childhood trauma survivors.
