Background:
The Patient-Rated Tennis Elbow Questionnaire (PRTEE) is generally used for assessing Function and pain in Lateral Epicondylalgia patients. But, English is a language barrier to the people in the state, where Marathi is the main language. PRTEE should be translated into Marathi to make it possible to use. Hence, the aim of the research is to translate PRTEE and cultural adaptation of the Marathi form of PRTEE and validate it in Indian Lateral Epicondylalgia patients.
Materials And Methods:
Translation of Marathi PRTEE with forward-backward translation is done using suggested rules. The final PRTEE-Marathi form is given to 74 Lateral Epicondylalgia patients for assessing validity and reliability. Internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) is utilized to measure reliability and for testing test-retest reliability (Kendall's Tau) on days 1 and 2, and convergent validity is estimated using Pearson correlation.
Results:
There is no statistically significant difference betwixt Marathi PRTEE and English PRTEE. The outcomes are insignificant statistically (P = 0.6803). 0.9725 is internal consistency, and the Coefficient is 1 for the test-retest, which displays that the responses are exactly the same after 24 h. The correlation coefficient is 0.998 for convergent validity displaying a very high degree of correlation. Hence, the responses are almost exact in both questionnaires.
Conclusion:
The conclusion is that the Marathi-translated PRTEE is reliable and valid for utilization in the literate Marathi-speaking population.
