Basic medical sciences and understanding medicine: Insights from medical students

Medical students value basic sciences for understanding disease but find content extensive. Most are not pursuing these fields due to preference for clinical work and income concerns.

- Recommendations include reducing content intensity and integrating practical, clinically relevant approaches.
