Abstract:
Sandin and collaborators propose the existence of a large undetected living radiolarian diversity, and a deeper Neoproterozoic origin for the group. Although reasonable based on current data, these claims still face challenges regarding metabarcode artifacts and the reliability of ancient fossil calibration points coupled with gene-based phylogenies.
