BackgroundEffective chemotherapy management is crucial for optimal patient outcomes, yet it remains complex and multifaceted. This study aimed to develop and validate a comprehensive web-based platform, OncoCare, designed to streamline chemotherapy management for healthcare providers and improve medication adherence among patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.MethodologyThe OncoCare platform was developed through a user-centric approach, and the platform's efficacy was evaluated in a two-part study: Part 1 assessed healthcare provider satisfaction using a pre-post design, and Part 2 employed a quasi-experimental trial to compare medication adherence levels between an experimental group using the platform and a control group receiving standard care.ResultsHealthcare provider satisfaction significantly improved after one month of using the OncoCare platform, with mean scores increasing from 14.8 (moderate satisfaction) at baseline to 25.6 (high satisfaction) at follow-up (p = 0.001). In the patient evaluation, the experimental group exhibited a substantial decrease in low adherence (from 80.0% to 16.7%) and a significant increase in moderate adherence (66.6%) compared to the control group (p = 0.002).ConclusionThe OncoCare web-based platform demonstrated potential in enhancing chemotherapy management for healthcare providers and improving medication adherence among patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment.
