Uptake of the Hepatitis B Vaccine Among Pre-Service Health Professionals in Rwanda

• Lack of awareness (45%) was the primary reason for non-vaccination; institutional support and knowledge influenced uptake.

Conclusions:

• Pre-service health professionals are vulnerable to hepatitis B infection due to incomplete vaccination coverage and knowledge deficits.
• Targeted interventions are needed to improve awareness and ensure complete vaccination in this critical group.
