Posterior extradural transpedicular monolateral odontoidectomy (PETMO): a technical note.

A novel posterior surgical technique, purely posterior extradural transpedicular monolateral odontoidectomy (PETMO), successfully treated a patient with irreducible basilar invagination and craniovertebral junction instability. This approach offers a viable alternative to anterior decompression, minimizing risks.
