Endoscopic microanatomy of anisakis. In vivo study

Anisakiasis is a parasitic zoonosis caused by nematodes of the Anisakidae family, acquired through the ingestion of raw or undercooked fish or seafood infected with their larvae. We present an in vivo endoscopic study in which morphological evaluation and characterization of Anisakis sp. were achieved using optical magnification. This approach allowed detailed visualization of the penetration point in the gastric mucosa, which could optimize its identification and extraction during diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopy.
