Background:

  • Non-exudative macular neovascularization (NE-MNV) is a key feature in age-related macular degeneration.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate short-term alterations in retinal-choroidal vasculature and NE-MNV morphology.
  • To utilize optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) for detailed imaging analysis.

Main Methods:

  • Sixteen eyes from 12 patients with NE-MNV were examined at baseline and six months.
  • Quantitative assessment included central macular thickness, foveal avascular zone, vessel density, flow area, choroidal vascularity index, and NE-MNV fractal dimensions.

  • Rising NE-MNV fractal dimensions indicate increased complexity within the neovascular network.
