Direct generation of high peak power noise-like pulse from an all-fiber Mamyshev oscillator at 1550 nm
Abstract:
We report on the direct generation of 0.565 µJ, 80.7 kW noise-like pulse (NLP) from an all-fiber Mamyshev oscillator (MO) at 1550 nm wavelength experimentally. The all-fiber MO has been modulated by the offset spectral filters, which act as the artificial saturable absorber with step-like saturable absorption behavior. Under the available highest pump power, the average power of the NLP from the MO can reach 1.9 W with a coherence spike duration 157 fs, and the pedestal width 7 ps at repetition rate of 3.36 MHz, corresponding to the peak power 80.7 kW, by controlling the offset spectral filters. To the best of our knowledge, it's the highest peak power NLP obtained directly from the all-fiber laser cavity at 1550 nm. Furthermore, the supercontinuum with 20 dB bandwidth of 750 nm covering the wavelength from 1285 nm to 2035nm has been achieved in a 1 m high nonlinear optical fiber pumped by the all-fiber NLP source. The high peak power MO emitting NLP with a compact configuration may provide an attractive source for nonlinear optics applications.
