The Notch pathway in Metazoa: a comparative analysis across cnidarians and beyond

The Notch signalling pathway is conserved in early animals, but its components are reduced in parasitic Myxozoa. This study reveals evolutionary changes and identifies the Notch receptor in proliferative Myxozoa cells.
