Ga5Li12+: A Doubly Aromatic Ga511- Ring Stabilized by Lithium Cations

Abstract:
Ga5Li12+ features a planar, D5h-symmetric Ga511- ring stabilized by two [Li6]6+ caps and exhibits dual 6π- and 10σ-electron aromaticity. Structural, electronic delocalization, and magnetic criteria consistently confirm its doubly aromatic character. This cluster represents the first example of a Ga5 ring stabilized by six π-electrons, expanding the scope of main-group aromaticity.
