  • Limited research exists on SWPs' user experiences with CIS in supporting CBKF.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate SWPs' experiences with how CIS support case-based knowledge formation (CBKF).
  • To identify factors influencing CIS effectiveness in supporting SWPs' CBKF.

Main Methods:

  • A nationwide cross-sectional survey of 980 SWPs in Finland conducted in 2020.
  • Questionnaire assessed technical functionality, usability, information quality, and access to case-based information.
  • Univariable and multiple classification analyses were used to identify predictors of CIS support for CBKF.

  • Usability and information quality were the strongest predictors of CIS support for CBKF.
  • SWPs in institutional care reported higher satisfaction with CIS than those in other settings.
  • Information quality was perceived as good, but usability requires improvement.

Conclusions:

  • Enhancements in CIS usability, such as summary views and dashboards, are needed.
  • Improving usability is critical for better supporting SWPs' case-based knowledge formation.
