Green finance allocation and "dual security" of food and ecology: Analytical study based on quantitative spatial

Abstract:
Green finance has emerged as a pivotal driver of modern agriculture and rural revitalization, and "dual security" of food and ecology benefits from its efficient allocation. Against the backdrop of environmental deterioration and climate change, regional imbalance persists in China's green finance, thereby undermining its potential effectiveness in agricultural sustainability. This study examines the relationship between green finance allocation and "dual security" of food and ecology. A quantitative spatial equilibrium model for agriculture is employed, which incorporates three sectors: households, government, and agricultural enterprises. Using this model, we find that "dual security" achieved substantial advancement. Moreover, the results suggest that green finance allocation plays a crucial role in this process, while considerable optimization remains. This dichotomy arises because development-oriented approaches tend to amplify regional divergence, whereas equity-oriented frameworks are hypothesized to impose structural constraints on China's agricultural economic growth. Simulations further reveal that combined policies integrating green finance allocation, population mobility, and trade networks demonstrate higher efficiency than separate policies. Localities that tailor policies to their specific conditions achieve better optimization. Therefore, policy implementation must prioritize the allocative optimization of green finance for "dual security" and align agricultural objectives with enhancing cross-regional factor mobility to achieve green coordinated development in agriculture.
