This study introduces a novel approach combining the time-reversal method with Lamb waves to evaluate the severity of debonding in composite glazed ceramic tile structures. Recognising that tile edges and corners are most susceptible to debonding, sensors were strategically placed in these locations as a standardised setting. The methodology centres on obtaining a reconstructed signal correlation coefficient that reflects the extent of structural damage. Sparse sensor based Reconstruction Algorithm for Probabilistic Inspection of Defects (RAPID) method is further deployed to image the probability distribution of damage in the investigated structures, where an innovative energy-based weighting factor is introduced for different sensing paths to enhance the detection resolution of the traditional RAPID method. Varied sizes of artificial debonding damage are successfully visualised in constructed images by the proposed method, offering a detailed and uniform approach to assess the extent of debonding across different specimens.
