Short-term effects of deep sclerectomy on retinal vessel density and visual field function in primary open-angle

Mitomycin C-augmented non-penetrating deep sclerectomy significantly lowered intraocular pressure and improved visual field mean deviation in primary open-angle glaucoma patients. Retinal microvasculature showed no short-term changes, but a correlation between vessel density and visual field function was observed.
