  • Greater stressful experiences (GARS) persisted in SWs regardless of adjustments for sleep, occupational stress, or depression.

  • Shift workers exhibit heightened vulnerability to stress, higher perceived stress levels, and more frequent stressful experiences compared to non-shift workers.
  • Sleep quality and workplace environments are significant factors associated with increased stress vulnerability and perceived stress in shift workers.
  • The interplay between sleep, workplace environment, and stress is more pronounced among shift workers, highlighting the need for tailored occupational health strategies.
