Background:
Ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) are a significant contributor to morbidity and mortality in patients with acute heart failure (AHF), yet their management has been underrepresented in current guidelines.
Objective:
To highlight and critically evaluate the key recommendations of the 2024 ACVC-EHRA-HFA consensus statement on the management of VAs in AHF.
Methods:
This Commentary provides a focused summary of the consensus document, integrates clinical perspectives from its contributors, and includes an external critical viewpoint to ensure balanced interpretation.
Conclusions:
The consensus statement presents a structured, multidisciplinary framework for VA management in AHF, including antiarrhythmic drug therapy, mechanical support, and ablation. Several gaps in evidence remain, requiring future research.
