None:
Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is an accurate, evidence-based tool, providing real-time, bedside imaging to guide diagnosis and management. POCUS education is rapidly expanding within undergraduate and graduate medical education, and we predict there will be increased interest in POCUS for infectious disease specialists. POCUS use requires structured training, competency assessment, and integration into institutional workflows. Credentialing, documentation, and billing considerations are central for sustainable POCUS use in clinical care. This review highlights the practical benefits and applications of POCUS for infectious diseases clinicians and offers a practical framework for clinicians to incorporate POCUS into their practice, specifically addressing logistical and training considerations.
