Acromial Cupping with Lodged Bioinductive Collagen Implant Following Rotator Cuff Repair: A Case Report

Case:
We report a 39-year-old man with a supraspinatus retear treated with a Regeneten implant. Six months postoperatively, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a foreign body lodged at the inferior acromion margin, causing acromial cupping, remodeling, and fibrosis. At the 12-month follow-up, the patient presented symmetrical strength and full range of motion with no pain.
Conclusion:
We report the first case of Regeneten implant migration with acromial lodging. Despite MRI findings, the patient remained asymptomatic with no functional limitations. Close postoperative follow-up is essential to monitor complications, even in asymptomatic patients. This case highlights favorable outcomes with conservative management in the presence of implant migration.
