Inhibitory amino acid effects upon cortical evoked potentials

Abstract:
The amplitude of both P1 and N1 waves of the cortical evoked potentials are significantly increased by topical application of GABA and taurine but not of glycine. This suggests a possible depressant effect of both GABA and taurine at superficial cortical layers.
