Abstract:
This letter introduces a new subject matter committee of the International Society for Plant Pathology (ISPP) dedicated to advancing research and management strategies for canker diseases, named Fruit, Nut, and Forest Crops Canker Diseases (FNF-CD). Given the increasing impact of canker diseases on plant health and agricultural ecosystems, our committee aims to foster collaboration, share critical findings, and develop innovative solutions. This editorial highlights the committee's objective, the development of the committee, and the future perspectives. We hope this editorial will help engage a broader scientific community and encourage participation in this important initiative.
