Abstract:
Although combat extremity injuries were highly prevalent during the Global War on Terror, orthopedic surgeons were not always present in the forward surgical environment. We describe the Joint Trauma System's line of effort to evaluate the need for orthopedic surgeons providing forward surgical care during potential Large-Scale Combat Operations.
