Summary

Continuous ingestion of cerium oxide nanoparticles (CeO2 NPs) in mice showed they are excreted in feces but accumulate in digestive tissues. The NPs mitigate reactive oxygen species (ROS) via Ce3+/Ce4+ electron transfer, preserving intestinal function.
