Perineural Blocks: Ropivacaine 0.2% Can Provide Surgical Anesthesia: A Case Report

Abstract:
Based on our experience, the local anesthetic concentrations used to date in perineural blocks may be excessively high. Ropivacaine 0.2% with the addition of dexmedetomidine and dexamethasone can provide surgical anesthesia in perineural blocks. Here we present a case report of 3 patients who underwent osteosynthesis of the distal radius epiphysis and distal homerus after a traumatic fracture. We decided to perform a supraclavicular block with a low concentration of local anesthetic (ropivacaine 0.2%) with adjuvants to obtain complete anesthesia of the limb.
