Abstract:
Epilepsy is a disorder characterized by a continuous predisposition to epileptic seizures, along with neurobiological, cognitive, psychological, and social consequences. In children, factors such as age of onset, type of seizure, and treatment influence neuropsychological alterations, which are further exacerbated by brain development during childhood. The analyzed article shows a decrease in working memory among adolescents, correlated with the duration since diagnosis but not with intelligence quotient.
