    Background:

    • Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin cancer.
    • Periocular BCC presents unique challenges due to anatomical complexity and proximity to vital structures.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To evaluate the efficacy of Mohs surgery for periocular basal cell carcinomas.
    • To identify risk factors for recurrence in treated periocular BCCs.

    Main Methods:

    • Retrospective analysis of 631 periocular basal cell carcinoma cases treated with Mohs surgery.
    • Comparison of cure rates and recurrence patterns based on lesion location and prior treatment history.

    • Overall cure rates were 98.1% for primary and 93.6% for previously treated lesions.
