Actinomyces radingae as an emerging pathogen in breast implant surgery: First reported case

This article describes a rare case of breast implant infection after bilateral mastopexy with implants. Actinomyces radingae, a new pathogenic subspecies of Actinomyces, was isolated from the patient's breast abscess. Despite initial treatment difficulties, including persistent purulent drainage, the infection was successfully treated with surgical intervention and prolonged antibiotic therapy. To our knowledge, this is the first case in which Actinomyces radingae has been described as the causative microorganism for a breast implant infection. This case underscores the importance of recognizing and effectively treating rare infections associated with breast implant surgery.
