Abstract:
Microbiological methods are a new means of environmentally friendly and efficient methane treatment in coal mines. However, traditional microbial processes have a short action time and low degradation efficiency in local methane treatment. For this reason, a novel hierarchical enhanced contact microbial reaction apparatus (HECMRA) was designed and developed in this study. Charcoal with a particle size of 0.5-1 mm was selected as the optimal filler material for the reactor among the three porous media materials through experiments. Similar simulation experiments of the microbial reactor were carried out, and the results show that the reactor is well adapted to the mine environment, and the unit methane absorption can reach up to 14.213 μmol/cm3·h under the conditions of methane concentration of 1-10% and the temperature of 27-34 °C. The results of the research provide theoretical and technological references for the engineering problems of methane local accumulation in coal mines.
