Nursing Evaluation

The evaluation stage signals the end of the nursing process. The nurse gathers evaluative data to assess whether or not the patient has attained the expected results. Whereas the nurse collects data in the nursing assessment to identify the patient's health concerns, the evaluation stage data determines if the indicated health issues are resolved. Evaluative data collection includes two sections: the data acquired to evaluate patient outcomes and the time criteria for data collection.

Background:

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) role demands advanced skills like resilience and emotional intelligence (EI).
Increased interprofessional teamwork necessitates enhanced leadership capabilities.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the impact of a structured nurse executive fellowship program (NEFP).
To assess changes in resilience and emotional intelligence (EI) among participants.

Main Methods:

Mixed-methods retrospective program evaluation.
12 nursing directors participated in a 2-year NEFP.
Program included didactics, coaching, immersion, and a project.

Main Results:

Resilience and EI levels significantly increased post-program.
Qualitative feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive.
Pre-program medians for resilience and EI were 88 and 5.88, respectively.

Conclusions:

Structured executive development programs enhance resilience and EI.
Increased resilience and EI positively influence turnover intention.
These programs reduce stress and burnout, boosting job satisfaction.
