Summary

Sticky Tooth (ST) and Sticky Bone (SB) effectively regenerate maxillary bone defects. ST demonstrated faster bone healing than SB derived from equine or human sources, with excellent tissue integration and no inflammation observed.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To histologically compare the efficacy of Sticky Tooth (ST) and Sticky Bone (SB) in maxillary bone defect regeneration.
  • To evaluate ST derived from ground teeth against SB from equine bone and human allografts.

Main Methods:

  • Forty patients received maxillary alveolar ridge regeneration using four biomaterials: ST (BonMaker), ST (Smart Dentin Grinder), equine SB, and human allograft SB.
  • Preoperative, post-regeneration, and follow-up CBCT imaging was performed.
  • Histological and quantitative analysis of biopsy samples at four months post-regeneration.

Main Results:

  • All 40 patients achieved successful alveolar ridge regeneration.
  • Histological examination revealed excellent integration of biomaterials with bone tissue.
  • No signs of inflammation were observed in any treatment group.

Conclusions:

  • Both Sticky Tooth (ST) and Sticky Bone (SB) are effective biomaterials for maxillary bone regeneration.
  • Sticky Tooth (ST) showed a significantly faster bone healing process compared to equine xenograft and human allograft Sticky Bone (SB).
  • These findings support the use of ST and SB in alveolar ridge augmentation procedures.
