Summary

This study coupled photochemical vapor generation with direct analysis in real time-high resolution mass spectrometry to identify volatile ruthenium and osmium carbonyls. The method successfully identified Ru(CO)5 and Os(CO)5, and OsO4 under oxidative conditions.
