Postoperative pulmonary complications (PPCs) are common after emergency surgery for Acute Type A Aortic Dissection (ATAAD). Smoking, prior cardiac surgery, cardiopulmonary bypass time, and blood transfusions increase PPC risk, worsening patient outcomes.
