Summary

Augmented reality (AR) offers the highest accuracy for placing orthodontic mini-implants for maxillary skeletal expansion (MSE), outperforming computer-aided static navigation (NAV) and freehand techniques (FHT). This study evaluated three methods for MSE appliance placement accuracy.
