Summary

Folded dermal grafts in rhinoplasty show significant initial resorption but achieve stable aesthetic results. Preoperative consideration of resorption is key for satisfactory outcomes in nasal augmentation.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and resorption characteristics of folded dermal grafts in augmentation rhinoplasty.
  • To assess aesthetic outcomes and volume stability following the use of folded dermal grafts.

Main Methods:

  • Retrospective analysis of 14 patients undergoing augmentation rhinoplasty with folded dermal grafts.
  • Ultrasonography and 3D photogrammetric analysis used for graft resorption and volume assessment.
  • Follow-up duration exceeded 12 months post-procedure.

Main Results:

  • Significant resorption of folded dermal grafts observed within the first 6 months (38% decrease in vertical height).
  • Minimal volume change in dorsal augmentation and slight, stabilizing decrease in nasal tip height after 6 months.
